| 2009 A Few Months Before Opening WCC |
As we move through the year, it’s easy to notice how seasons shift. They're subtle at first, then all at once. What’s less obvious is how our personal seasons change too. Sometimes the transition is gentle. Other times, it pulls us in unexpected directions. And yet, just like nature, these shifts often bring growth, clarity, and a chance to realign with what matters most.
This past year has been a vivid reminder of that for our family.
One of the biggest changes has been watching Rod’s dad settle into a care center. It isn’t a phase of life anyone looks forward to, and it comes with its own kind of heartache. But it has also brought moments of gratitude, knowing he’s safe, supported, and surrounded by people who care for him with compassion. It’s a season that requires patience and acceptance, but it’s also one that teaches us how deeply connected family truly is.

Another shift we’re learning to navigate is having to “share” our daughter with the in-laws now that she’s older and building her own traditions. It’s funny how life sneaks up on you. You spend years leading, guiding, and being the center of your child’s world, and then suddenly you’re learning to make space. And that’s okay. Watching her form new relationships and broaden her circle has been a reminder that change can be beautiful. It’s a chapter of letting go just a little, trusting a lot, and celebrating the people she brings into her life.
All of these transitions, big and small, have reminded us of something we often tell our patients: change is not the enemy. Just like our bodies adapt, heal, and respond to the stresses we put on them, our lives do the same. Each new season invites us to approach things with flexibility, grace, and a willingness to adjust our rhythm.
Chiropractic doctors talk about alignment in terms of the spine. But alignment happens emotionally, mentally, and within our relationships too. When life shifts around us, the goal isn’t to resist, it’s to find the healthiest way to move with it. Learn more about chiropractic HERE.
Whether you’re entering a season of caregiving, redefining family roles, or simply adjusting to new routines, remember that these changes can strengthen you. They encourage us to slow down, reflect, and find balance in ways we may not have chosen on our own.
As always, we’re here to support not just your physical well-being, but the quality of life that comes with feeling aligned: body, mind, and season. Read more about some of the changes we've had in THIS POST or THIS POST.
