The Story Behind Our Unique Building
If you've ever driven by our office and thought, "That's an interesting little building," you're not alone!
One of the things that makes our chiropractic clinic unique isn't just what happens inside…. it's the history of the building itself.
Our office is actually a Lustron Home, one of the most fascinating housing projects in American history.
What Is a Lustron Home?
Following World War II, America faced a major housing shortage as thousands of veterans returned home. To help meet the demand, the Lustron Corporation developed an innovative idea: homes made almost entirely of porcelain-enameled steel.
Instead of traditional wood construction, these homes featured steel walls, steel roofs, steel ceilings, and even built-in steel cabinetry. They were designed to be durable, low-maintenance, and modern for the time.
Each home was manufactured in a factory, shipped in pieces, and assembled on-site, much like a giant life-sized construction set.
Although thousands were planned, only about 2,500 Lustron Homes were ever built between 1948 and 1950 before the company closed its doors, making them a rare piece of American history today.
Our Building's Journey
Our particular Lustron Home was assembled in 1950 and originally served as a family residence.

For more than three decades, people called this little house "home." Then, in the early 1980s, it began a new chapter when it was converted into a travel agency.
When we purchased the property in 2013, we saw something special. Rather than replacing this unique building, we chose to continue its story by transforming it into our chiropractic clinic.
Today, patients come here seeking relief from pain, improved mobility, and better overall health: all within walls that have been welcoming people for more than 75 years.

Many longtime community members remember when it was someone's home. Others remember stopping in to book vacations during its years as a travel agency. Now, it has become a place where people come to feel better and take care of their health.
Every chapter has been about serving people, it has simply taken different forms over the decades.
